What it is

“Production is the line item where most agency margin is hidden. The reason we run our own studio is to be honest about that line, not to be theatrical about creativity.”

A Kaelo Digital Marketing principal

Shooting in a live operating environment is a different job from studio production. There are access constraints, safety requirements, confidentiality obligations and a sensitivity about what appears in frame — a competitor's markings, a client's cargo, a patient. We produce for our own activities in exactly these environments, so the planning assumes the constraints rather than discovering them on the day.

What’s included

Four areas of scope
01

Photography & product imagery

Studio and location work, with the asset library structured for retail, marketplace and brand site at the same shoot.

02

Video production

Short-form social, long-form brand films, product-explainer content. Built around the channel it has to perform in.

03

Motion & design

Animated assets, motion identity work, and the unglamorous template systems that let a small team operate.

04

Production management

Casting, location, permits, post. The operating layer that turns a creative brief into a delivered campaign.

How the work runs

STEP 01

Brief & budget alignment

Fixed-scope brief and budget agreed before production books. We do not start production on a verbal scope and we do not run open-ended day rates.

STEP 02

Pre-production planning

Casting, location, permits, equipment, post-production resourcing all decided before the shoot day. The shoot day is execution, not improvisation.

STEP 03

Shoot & capture

Studio, location or hybrid. Photography, video, motion captured against the documented shot list. The brief is the brief; scope creep on set is a written change order.

STEP 04

Post, delivery, and rights transfer

Full editorial through to delivery formats. All rights, source files, raw footage transferred at completion. No watermarked deliverables.

When to come to us

  1. 01 You are launching a consumer brand and need a coordinated production pipeline across photography, video and motion before launch day.
  2. 02 You operate a brand whose existing production assets are inconsistent across campaigns — the discipline needs to be rebuilt under one studio rather than scattered across freelancers.
  3. 03 You are a B2B brand needing executive video and product imagery on a defensible budget — the production studio model is purpose-built for this.
  4. 04 You operate a brand inside Wearon Studio or an adjacent partnership and the studio capacity is genuinely yours by relationship.

What we do not do

  • We do not run open-ended day rates. Every shoot has a documented scope and a documented budget before booking.
  • We do not retain talent images or product photography beyond the contracted retention period. All rights transfer to the client.
  • We do not pad creative direction with multiple unnecessary stakeholders. The team on set is the team that does the work.
  • We do not subcontract critical creative work to freelancers without naming them in the engagement letter and assigning written quality accountability.
Operating note

A working studio, not a creative agency. The output is owned by the client, fully licensed.

All rights, all formats, all source files transferred. We do not retain talent images or product photography beyond the contracted retention period.

Recent mandate, anonymised

Year-one production pipeline for a launching consumer apparel brand — on a single annual budget.

Forty-eight product photography shoots, six video campaigns, four motion-identity assets across the year. All planned, scheduled and budgeted at the start; no overruns; all assets owned by the client at year-end.

Common questions

Where are you set up to shoot?
In-house studio in Dubai for photography and small-scale video. Location shoots across the GCC and selectively further afield. Larger productions are run with named third-party crews under our direction.
Who owns the work after delivery?
The client — full rights, source files, raw footage, all formats. We do not retain residual rights for our portfolio without written consent.
How are fees structured?
Fixed-fee per project with documented scope. Where annual production pipelines are wanted, we offer an annual fee covering an agreed shot count and revision allowance — cleaner economics than day-rate retainers.
Do you work with external creative agencies?
Yes — we are often the production partner under another agency’s creative direction. The boundary is documented in the engagement letter so the creative agency’s margin and our production margin are separate.
How fast can you turn a project around?
Standard product photography: 7-10 working days from brief to delivered assets. Video campaign: 4-8 weeks depending on scope. Larger campaigns with multi-location shoots: 8-16 weeks.
How does this connect to the rest of Digital Marketing?
Production sits inside the practice rather than as an external supplier. Brand, performance, content, social can all draw on the studio under one engagement — one accountability line, one budget visibility.
