Fashion
Apparel brands with a manufacturing backbone inside Kaelo Textiles. Built to operate, not to flip.
What this service is
Fashion is the category Kaelo understands deepest. The textiles wing has been manufacturing garments across five Asian markets since 1989, and the Commerce engine operates apparel brands that source directly from that footprint. The combination is unusual: most fashion businesses run sourcing as an arms-length supplier function. We run it as a sister operation that has been in the family for three decades.
“Most apparel businesses cannot tell you which mill made which garment. The ones inside Kaelo Commerce can — and that traceability is the difference between a brand built to last and one built to flip.”

What we are accountable for
Where the work lands.
-
01
Vertically integrated apparel
Brands that source through Kaelo Textiles — with the cost, lead-time and quality control that direct manufacturing access provides.
-
02
Direct-to-consumer operations
D2C commerce, paid acquisition, performance content, and the unsexy logistics of fulfilment across multiple geographies.
-
03
Retail & wholesale where it fits
Physical retail, marketplace and wholesale channels deployed only where the unit economics support them.
-
04
Brand build-out
Positioning, identity, content and PR run by Kaelo Marketing & Media for the apparel brands inside the portfolio.
How we engage
From first email to standing review.
-
01
Vertical sourcing through Kaelo Textiles
Most of our apparel brands source directly through the five-country Kaelo Textiles footprint. Lead time, quality discipline and cost predictability are structural advantages, not negotiated favours.
-
02
Direct-to-consumer operations
D2C commerce as the default distribution model; brand-controlled customer relationships rather than third-party marketplace dependence as the primary channel.
-
03
Selective wholesale & retail
Wholesale and physical retail deployed where the unit economics support them. Channels are chosen for margin defensibility, not for reach.
-
04
Brand operations through Marketing & Media
Positioning, identity, content and PR run by Kaelo Marketing & Media for the apparel brands inside the portfolio. One accountability line for the brand work.

When to call us
The shape of the moment this work usually arrives in.
-
01
You are an apparel brand seeking a manufacturing partner with multi-decade operating history rather than a transactional supplier.
-
02
You operate an apparel business and the bottleneck is the sourcing layer — lead times, capacity, quality consistency.
-
03
You hold an apparel brand thesis Kaelo Commerce might be willing to back, build, or partner on commercially.
-
04
You are a wholesale or retail partner looking to source apparel categories where Kaelo’s vertical integration is the structural advantage.
A named brand
WearOn — fashion & lifestyle, global.
Operated under its own brand mark, sold across markets, sourced through the Kaelo Textiles footprint. The longest-running of our publicly traded apparel labels.
Sourcing note, anonymised
A single integrated supply chain serves multiple brands across five Asian countries.
Capacity reservation is documented per brand annually. When a single source is disrupted, allocation reroutes inside a season. The trade-off — higher per-unit cost than single-country operating — is the insurance premium that pays its own way.
For clarity
What we will not do here.
- We do not chase fast-fashion or ultra-low-price positioning. The category does not match our operating discipline.
- We do not build apparel brands whose unit economics depend on a single hero product; the brand has to support a sustained range.
- We do not run third-party manufacturing for clients outside the Kaelo Commerce portfolio or our named trade-client book.
- We do not licence the Kaelo name to external apparel ventures we do not operate ourselves.
Frequently asked
The questions that arrive first.
- 01 How many fashion brands does Kaelo Commerce operate?
- The publicly named apparel brand is WearOn. Additional apparel brands sit inside the portfolio without public group attribution. The portfolio is curated rather than expanded for its own sake.
- 02 Can external brands source through Kaelo Textiles?
- Selectively, through the Trade & Export arm. New trade clients are accepted by introduction, on long-horizon terms; the named operating entities (New Textiles Trading, Junction Trading, Shaoxing Textiles Industries) handle the relationship.
- 03 How do you handle seasonality?
- With reservation capacity built in. Each apparel brand has documented seasonal allocation across the manufacturing footprint, with reallocation rules pre-agreed for the seasons where demand exceeds capacity in any one country.
- 04 What price points do the fashion brands operate at?
- Considered-positioning rather than luxury or fast-fashion. The economics support brands that customers buy because they last; not because they are cheap and not because they signal status.
- 05 Do you take partnership or licensing arrangements with external apparel brands?
- Selectively, where the operating fit is genuine and we can stand behind the partnership in writing. We do not run licensing for revenue-share purposes alone; the structural rationale has to be operational.
- 06 How does this connect to the rest of Kaelo?
- Kaelo Textiles manufactures; Kaelo Marketing & Media runs brand operations; Kaelo Investments takes positions in fashion where the operating thesis warrants. The four cross-anchor under Operating Council oversight.
