Annual Review
A written, internal review of the year — division by division, in narrative form. Published selectively, in part, to partners and counterparties.
What this service is
Kaelo Global produces a written Annual Review every calendar year. It is an internal document — a narrative review by each operating division of what was done, what was learned, and what changes for the year ahead. It is reviewed by the Operating Council and shared selectively with the long-tenured co-investors, banking partners and counterparties whose work depends on understanding how the enterprise is performing.
“An annual review that doubles as a marketing document does not work as a budget input. We chose the budget input; the marketing was never the point.”
— An Operating Council member
What we are accountable for
Where the work lands.
-
01
Division-by-division narrative
Each of the five divisions writes a section on the year. Numbers are reviewed against operating plan; learnings are documented and carried forward.
-
02
Group-level narrative
A consolidated section authored by the Operating Council. Capital allocation, governance, and the year’s structural decisions.
-
03
Selective distribution
The Review is shared in part with the partners who need it to do their own work; it is not distributed publicly.
-
04
Where summaries appear
A short public summary is published on the website each year. It links here from the Insights archive when released.
How we engage
From first email to standing review.
-
01
Division narratives, written
Each of the five divisions writes a narrative section on the year — what was done, what was learned, what changes for the year ahead. The principals who ran the year sign their sections.
-
02
Group narrative by Operating Council
A consolidated narrative authored by the Operating Council, covering capital allocation, governance, structural decisions and the year’s strategic posture across the group.
-
03
Selective distribution
Shared in full with long-tenured co-investors, banking partners, and counterparties whose work materially depends on understanding the enterprise. Distribution is documented; the Review is not public.
-
04
Public summary at year-end
A short, defensibly-written public summary is released annually through the Press & Media Centre. The summary links to relevant Insights articles for fuller commentary.

Operating principle
A written record, not a glossy report.
The Annual Review is a document Kaelo could be audited from. It is the same document the Operating Council uses to set the next year’s budget.
Operating principle
The same document used externally is the document used internally.
The Annual Review is single-source. The version that goes to co-investors is the version the Operating Council reviewed. There is no separate marketing edit; there is no shorter version with the inconvenient bits removed.
For clarity
What we will not do here.
- We do not distribute the Annual Review publicly. It is internal-and-selective by design.
- We do not commission the Annual Review as a marketing document; it is the same document the Operating Council reads.
- We do not include data that would not survive a regulator’s scrutiny. Every figure has a documented source.
- We do not retain external production agencies for the Review — the document is internally authored to keep the voice consistent.
Frequently asked
The questions that arrive first.
- 01 Can I read the Annual Review?
- The full document is shared selectively, under documented purpose, with co-investors, banking partners and counterparties whose engagements include access. A short public summary is published at year-end.
- 02 When is the Review published?
- The internal document is circulated within ninety days of the financial year close. The public summary follows in the same window through the Press & Media Centre.
- 03 What does the Review include?
- Division narratives, group strategy, capital allocation, governance updates, and a documented retrospective on the year’s structural decisions. Aggregate proof figures appear alongside division-by-division operating narratives.
- 04 Is the Review audited?
- The financial sections are aligned to the audited group accounts. The narrative sections are signed by the responsible principals. Audit firm engagement details are documented internally.
- 05 How can a counterparty get access?
- Through documented purpose — existing engagement, regulatory request, due diligence with a defined scope. Routine commercial enquiries are routed through Contact.
- 06 How is this different from a public-company annual report?
- A public-company report serves an investor-relations and regulatory-disclosure function we deliberately do not have — see Investor Relations. The Kaelo Annual Review is an internal operating document with selective external distribution; the audience is bilateral relationships, not the public market.
