Capabilities & Products
Cut-and-sew, finishing, light wash; fabric sourcing and trim partnerships. Product categories built around what we do consistently well.
What this service is
Kaelo Textiles’ capability set is the result of three decades of deliberate selection — what we kept investing in, what we stopped doing, and what the trade clients we serve actually need. The list below is the working answer in 2026; it changes every few years as categories shift, but the standard for adding a new capability is the same as it has always been: only when we can run it to the discipline we run the rest of the operation to.
“Capability discipline is what stops a manufacturing wing from becoming a generalist service shop. Saying no to the wrong programme is harder than saying yes to it.”
— A Kaelo Textiles & Garments principal
What we are accountable for
Where the work lands.
-
01
Cut, sew & finishing
The core garment-production capability across knit and woven, run consistently across the manufacturing network.
-
02
Specialty finishing & light wash
Wash, dye, print and surface treatment work for product categories where the finishing is the differentiator.
-
03
Fabric sourcing & trim
Fabric and trim sourcing relationships used by Kaelo Commerce’s owned brands and a small set of trade clients.
-
04
Capacity reservation
Owned-brand demand is reserved as a defined block; trade-client capacity is added selectively, on long-form agreements.
How we engage
From first email to standing review.
-
01
Core garment production
Cut, sew, and finishing across knit and woven categories, run consistently across the network. The base capability the rest of the operation builds on.
-
02
Specialty finishing & light wash
Wash, dye, print and surface treatment for categories where the finishing decides the brand-perception of the product. Documented quality standards; defect-rate tracking.
-
03
Fabric & trim sourcing
Material and trim relationships used by Kaelo Commerce’s owned brands and a small set of trade clients. Categories curated against operating depth.
-
04
Capacity reservation discipline
Owned-brand demand is reserved as a defined block. Trade-client capacity is added selectively under long-form agreements. Reservation is binding before secondary work is offered.

Operating note
We are not a generalist contract manufacturer.
The capability set is curated. We will say no to programmes that do not match what we do well — in writing, with a recommendation for who might be a better fit.
Operating record
A capability added is a capability that stays added.
Capabilities inside Kaelo Textiles are added rarely and removed even more rarely. The discipline is that adding a capability is a long-term operating commitment, not a season-by-season experiment. That is what makes the set defensible.
For clarity
What we will not do here.
- We do not run capabilities the operation cannot do consistently well. Adding a capability is a multi-year decision, not a season-by-season chase.
- We do not bid for programmes outside the curated capability set. We will recommend partners where appropriate, in writing.
- We do not run capability marketing that overpromises against the operating reality.
- We do not licence Kaelo capabilities to external manufacturers under our name.
Frequently asked
The questions that arrive first.
- 01 What categories does Kaelo Textiles produce?
- Knit, woven, denim and technical garments — with finishing, light wash, fabric sourcing and trim. Capabilities are documented per facility across the network.
- 02 Can a brand request a capability outside the curated set?
- We will say no in writing, with a recommendation for who might be a better fit. The capability set is curated for a reason; expanding it for a single programme would degrade what is already operating well.
- 03 How is quality discipline measured?
- Defect-rate tracking per programme, audited internally and externally where the customer contract requires. Standards are written and applied as norms; the rates remain well below the industry baseline.
- 04 What is the typical minimum order size?
- Variable per category and per country. The network supports programmes from low-volume specialty runs (Japan) to bulk programmes (Indonesia, India). Specific minimums are agreed bilaterally.
- 05 How is capacity allocated between owned brands and trade clients?
- Owned-brand demand reserved annually as a defined block. Trade-client capacity offered selectively against the remaining capacity. Reservation precedence is documented; we do not over-commit.
- 06 How does the capability set evolve?
- Slowly. Capability decisions are reviewed in the annual operating cycle. Adding a capability is a multi-year operational decision rather than a seasonal experiment.
